Rehearsal with Soloist/Instrumentalist | $50 per 15 minutes
- We can perform with non-VSQ musicians, soloists, or church music directors. However, a rehearsal with said musician(s) is required prior to the event. This fee is for rehearsal time only and does not include any fees non-VSQ musicians may charge, or any sheet music fees that may be incurred.
- Sheet music for performing with non-VSQ musicians must be formally arranged for string quartet. We will not be able to read off of piano, organ, or choir scores, or from handwritten arrangements. We can coordinate with the musician(s) to ensure proper scoring and sheet music is available or provided. The Music Arranging/Purchasing fee described below may apply.
Music Arranging/Purchasing | $50 and up
- We have a very broad collection and a vast network of resources to find the songs on your wish list. However, some songs may need to be purchased or arranged for our instrumentation. This fee includes the cost of the sheet music and/or an arrangement fee, plus rehearsal time, for each song that we do not already own. Contact us for our full and up to date repertoire listing!
Important Information
Inquiry, Contract, and Payment
When inquiring about our services, please have details regarding your event and any special requests ready. To ensure ample time for scheduling and preparation, please allow at least 2-3 months between the time of inquiry and the date of your event (when possible). However, please don't let that deter you from inquiring! Even though availability is not guaranteed, we may be able to accept inquiries within 2 months of the event.
All details of the contract will be discussed and documented during the official booking, including cancellation and postponement policies.
A non-refundable deposit of $150 is due at the time of booking to reserve the performance date. This will be deducted from the total amount due and the remainder will be due 30 days prior to the event.
We accept check, cash, PayPal, and Venmo.
Venue/Other Considerations
For your event, a few requirements are necessary to accommodate the musicians. We ask that you please provide:
If you are hiring other musicians (e.g. DJ, pianist, singers, etc.) for your event, please ensure their contract does not include an exclusivity clause, where they will not allow any other musicians to perform at the event. We do not have an exclusivity clause, and therefore are able to perform even if other musicians are also hired for the same event.
Please take into consideration that we perform without amplification, unless the venue or environment we are performing in requires it and a sound system is provided for us. Once filled with guests, certain spaces and venues can drown out unamplified live music (e.g. large or very open rooms with only hard surfaces can cause echoing and voices to naturally amplify and the space to become very loud). We recommend keeping this in mind when planning your event. We can certainly perform anywhere, and sometimes all it takes is finding the right spot within the space for us to perform. We want you and your guests to be able to hear and enjoy us!
We do not offer DJ services, and therefore we do not recommend planning us for announcing, dancing, or partying during an event or wedding reception.
Music Selection
Having trouble selecting pieces for your wedding ceremony or event? From providing a narrowed down list to choosing the songs entirely, our coordinator can provide guidance and advice during the initial and subsequent consultations.

Venue/Other Considerations
For your event, a few requirements are necessary to accommodate the musicians. We ask that you please provide:
- Adequate covering or shade for outdoor events (examples: gazebo, large trees, tent, etc.). If no covering is available, then a backup indoor location or covered space must be planned. The musicians cannot play in rain, strong winds, and colder than 60F/higher than 80F temperatures as these conditions can damage the instruments and make it very difficult to perform.
- Four arm-less chairs set up in each space we are asked to perform.
- A space large enough for the musicians to play without obstructing views, walkways, or emergency exits - approx. 8x8 ft.
- For wedding ceremonies, an event coordinator or person to give the quartet important cues (e.g. wedding planner, officiant, vendue coordinator, etc.). Depending on the venue and other factors, this may or may not be needed.
