About Us

The Vox String Quartet is a group of young professionals that have been performing as a quartet in Madison, WI and the surrounding areas since 2015. Individual members work in various fields including legal, technology, and education. At the end of the day, we all enjoy playing music with each other and sharing that love with others.

Our name, "Vox," is Latin for "voice." Each member of a string quartet has their own voice through the instruments' separate parts. Yet, as a whole the four instruments become one voice, bringing the music to life.

VSQ is available for hire for weddings and events in the Madison, WI area. We can perform any style of music for your event, from classical standards to popular hits.
We are best known for our pop/rock covers, and our love of The Danish String Quartet's Last Leaf album.

Naomi Hasan

Violin

Violinist Naomi Hasan grew up in New Glarus and Middleton, WI, where her family finally signed her up for beginning strings. As soon as she opened that precious case, she began wailing to the trees and birds in the front yard of her family’s farmette - basically performing to anyone who would listen (and many who wouldn’t). She went on to study with the incomparable Nobu Yasuda at the University of Wisconsin at Eau Claire, earning her bachelor’s in Music Education. Although she's spent a good deal of time performing with large ensembles, string orchestras, and in the pit for musicals, her favorite moments are with the band Finding North and the inimitable Vox String Quartet - clean, real, and powerful. When Naomi isn’t making music, she can be found teaching violin and viola lessons out of her cozy home studio in Madison, WI, or covered in sand on the volleyball court.
